I hunt and fish a lot because it's my vocation and avocation. Trust me- I could be doing much worse things. I've been an outdoor writer-photographer for more than 40 years. One perk is you get to do it in such beautiful places. Much prefer mountains to skyscrapers. Just made the move back to Michigan after spending 10 years out West. Quite an experience. Never thought I'd end up in Nebraska or Wyoming, but it was a fun experience for the most part. Got to see and do some things that I never thought I would, like horseback riding in Rocky Mountain National Park or riding 15 miles into the Wind River Range and a recent trip into the Yellowstone back country. Different country out there. Some good; some bad. Spent my first 50 years in Michigan running a charter boat out of Ludington and guiding on the Pere Marquette, Big Manistee and Muskegon rivers. A number of factors precipitated the move, but mainly the 2008 housing crisis and the downturn in the economy. Most of my friends and family live in Michigan. Not a big fan of winter though. Much nicer in Cheyenne, WY. I will be back visiting lots hopefully with a traveling companion. I like to cook and a favorite evening is listening to some blues, drinking some red wine and preparing a delicious meal. Might be wild game. You'll be shocked I promise! I love long hikes with my Lab, especially if they end at a lake or a stream. I prefer women who are fit, intelligent, witty and comfortable in their own skin with a great sense of humor. Someone whose kids are out of the house so we could do things on the spur of the moment. I think a ponytail and baseball cap is sexy! I also appreciate someone who can rock a little black dress. If you're a vegetarian, don't believe in God, voted for Joe Biden, think hunting is barbaric, it's probably not going to work. Just saying! I love traveling to places like Isla Mujeris, the Rocky Mountains, and a waterfall tour in the UP. Paris in the spring, the Scottish moors, Istanbul- not so much. I would prefer to meet someone close to my age or younger that thinks we still have plenty of life to live and to look forward to. Funny how women's definition of "average" is much different than men's. lol!!! I want someone I can see on a regular basis. I'm not currently a member. I'm a big fan of gnatoutdoors.com! I just bought a little house in Muskegon. I don't plan on spending a lot of time there God willing.
