I like the truth and as an example I'm talking to you right now. What I mean is, if you're reading this, I'm actually talking to you as an individual right now. I don't know you and I've never met you but I am literally talking to you right this second from the past. Pretty weird huh? So while I'm talking to you and I seem to have your ear let me tell you a little something about myself. I'm into philosophy, history, and all the things I find fascinating that most people are not into. I do think about how and why Rome fell. I see the same patterns of demise in every empire that's ever been and I wonder why we just don't do that. I'm pretty well read and can chat with the best of them. I have a daughter who is number one. My father had a number one and it was his music...not me. Have recently come to believe that is why I treated him different than my mother because, maybe subconsciously, I picked up on that and was trying to become his number one. Without success. I want differently for mine. I want her to know that she is, has always been, and will always be my number one. She's my first child and I had her at 40 so I guess I'm a little different than the other fathers. I'm not going to lie by omission. I'm pretty fresh out of a 10-year relationship with her mother who I feel blindsided by. I'm wounded and vulnerable and I don't believe that I'm going to be very comfortable. I don't know what I'm going to find out here, if anything at all, but I have to move on one way or another. I'd like to tell you what I want but honestly... I don't think I know what I want or what I don't, want. What I'm looking for or not. I guess I'll just have to be shown. A boy can dream, can't he?
