I am a man of dichotomy. Fire and ice, steel and velvet, a typical Scorpio, hard shell on the outside, soft inside. I am a Mensan, [though I haven't been to a meeting in more than a decade.] I am constantly looking for the magical in the world, and expect it to be there. I am competent in the things that men are expected to know, such as mechanical things; what I don't know I can figure out. On the other hand, I can cook, sew, and enjoy things that are expected only of those more femininely inclined, like furniture design. [I designed many of the pieces in my home, and had them made when I was living abroad.] I am a man of my word. If I tell you something, you can take it to the bank. I have no use for liars, feeling that once you catch someone lying, you can't ever trust that person again. I don't need to lie, my stories are extraordinary enough already. If you can handle a man who's larger than life, I may be the man for you.
I am looking for an adventurous spirit who would enjoy watching a sunset from Machu Picchu or could find pleasure in haggling over a trinket in the Souk of Marrakesh. She doesn't have to be gorgeous, [though it wouldn't hurt] but must have that flair about her that turns men's eyes when we walk into a crowded place. Sophisticated and yet earthy, educated, and innocent but not naïve. Incapable of lying, but able to keep a secret. A solid mental foundation, [I've found that a sense of humor helps in maintaining sanity]. I would really like to know an attractive woman who has a mind for business and can converse fluently in the disciplines of math and science. One who has a deep reverence for the holy, and an irreverence for the secular. In other words, the rarest of women, a many-faceted fine jewel, not a cabochon. I am aware that even the finest of jewels has flaws, that's what gives them character.
I enjoy movies and TV and have a large DVD collection. I have climbed a 12,000 ft tall mountain in one day, and have been in the ring with the bull in Spain, twice. I am a ballroom dancer and have competed. I love to dress up and look forward to any opportunity to don a tux. Let's go dancing.
