I Would Describe Myself As

I'm a serial monogamist searching for my last love. While I wasn’t born or raised in the South, I have been in Florida for over 55 year and consider myself an old fashion, southern gentleman. I'm loyal and faithful in my relationships, and I cherish the way relationships evolve over time through ups and downs, wonderful moments together and occasional disagreements. I'm seeking a long-term friendship and, hopefully, a deep connection. I am looking for a lifelong companion who will be my best friend - a woman with a great personality & sense of humor who can captivate me in conversation.

A little about me:
Blessed with a quick mind, I enjoy long conversations over drinks and a nice dinner. I am emotionally and financially secure, and I don't carry any baggage. As an extreme optimist, I always seek the positive in every experience. I'm happy, at peace, and have a tranquil soul. How I treat people is rooted in the principles of karma (the golden rule). It might be old-fashioned, but it's the core of my outlook on life.

I'm a '100% guy'; I work hard, play hard, work-out hard, and love passionately. Whatever I do, I give it 100%! I'm passionate about living a healthy lifestyle physically, mentally, and spiritually. I work out almost daily, follow a mostly vegetarian (pescatarian) diet, and I'm fortunate to be disease-illness free. I quit eating red meat by age 23, and while it may seem restrictive, I can always find something on the menu at most restaurants. I've been meditating for many years and try to find time for it every day.

I've been privileged to spend most of my life living on the water, learning to sail Long Island Sound long before I was old enough to drive. I have always owned a boat (one kind or another) and spent decades living on the St. Johns River ... navigated it more times than I can count. I lived aboard a catamaran for several years, traversed Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway, and cruised the Keys and the Bahamas/Abacos. I'd love to find a partner who shares a passion for boating. A day at the Glen, Salt Springs, one of our many sandbars OR a night anchored under the stars is ‘soul rejuvenating.’

After living in Mandarin (Jacksonville) for about 40 years, I moved to Fernandina Beach, which I loved until it became too busy. Recently, I started remodeling an old house in Palatka and enjoy the small-town atmosphere reminiscent of earlier years in Mandarin and Fernandina.
