Never thought I’d try online dating, but meeting new people and single men in particular, seems to be getting harder these days. So here I am.
Born and raised in SoCal, but I’m not really a typical SoCal gal. I am considered socially liberal but fiscally consecutive (if your a die hard liberal we won’t get along, not because of me, I’ve just found hard left to be non-tolerant). I have an interracial family, a son and 3 grandkids. I am currently raising one of my granddaughters. I wear my heart on my sleeve, I’m loyal to a fault, but once crossed don’t come looking for me again. Friends say I’m tough on the outside, but I’d give you my heart if you’re my friend in need. I have a dry sense of humor, I don’t follow PC language, and I don’t care to start now. I love my country and hate what I’m seeing.
I am self-employed, yes gives me freedom (but to all business owners you know time is not always your own). So I work when there is work, and then many days I work to make more work happen ;)
I am big on honesty, integrity, being a standup. Life has been a challenge, but I can only look to my own choices for my outcome. I’m not that young 20 year with unrealistic expectations anymore. Been around the block. Married and divorced. Dated some, but hate the games and players. Today I know who I am and what I’m willing to compromise on, or not.
So I’m looking for more balance in my life now. Between work, and my granddaughter, I want some me time. And hopefully this is where you come in!
I’m looking for the long term lasting relationship. But we can start with a drink (wine or coffee depending on the day and time) A man to wake up next to, a guy who isn’t put off by a kid living at home still. I want a guy near my age, you understand my music (70’s, 80’s, R& B, Pop, Rock, Soul, Classics, corny Christmas songs. I even like some country, No Hip Hop or Rap, too disparaging). You understand the times we grew up in, and can appreciate the history of it.
You have been divorced (or widowed - so sorry) so you understand a deep relationship. With kids is no problem since I come with one. Still work or have hobbies so you have things to do, because I have to work, don’t want you all lonely at home. I hope you cook, I do, but not my favorite activity - but perhaps you can teach me a thing or two. How about I do the laundry?!
I love remodeling homes, from basic decorating to tear it down to studs and start over. This I’ve done a number of times. I love to travel, I’ve been all over the US, been to Asia - Japan, Hong Kong, Europe - Paris a number of times, Germany and Malta, Canada via a cruise, Hawaii and Mexico a few times. Need to get to Spain and Italy. So busy in the last decade I did not travel as I used too, but I do try and do weekend getaways, up the coast, down the coast, up to the mountains (if you like skiing my granddaughter is a killer on the slopes). If I could find my bike rack, I’ll do leisurely bike rides, walks on the beach, snuggling with a good tv show, or the movie house, theater, live music venue.
