The guy had seemed a little shy, but also kind and nice
He asked her out and she would ask her friends for their advice
Her break-up was a while ago, they said “Give it a shot
You never know, perhaps you will enjoy yourself a lot”
At dinner she was warming up, the time had seemed to fly
He spoke to her in pleasant tones and looked her in the eye
They walked the beach at sunset taking in the ocean breeze
It seemed so very natural, they talked and talked with ease
Emotions she felt stirring, she didn’t understand
But suddenly she felt compelled to hold onto his hand
That night her heart was captured, his words quite a surprise
“I’d miss a thousand sunsets just to gaze into your eyes”
